Weekend Wrap Up & Match Reports

AA4 round 2

The AA4's were keen to make up for the below par display of the weekend prior and arrived at the home of Timmy Tuckwell eager to score goals.

A nervy start to the game saw both sides struggle to stamp authority in the opening 5 minutes, smooth passing and trickery in midfield from Georgeson, Jazz and Riley saw OIFC slowly take control of the match, early chances were created through clever one-twos between Ed Livesey and Riley down the left while Mike Francis and Joe provided deep crosses from the right.

Mounting pressure from the dominance in midfield saw Jon Frazer score the 1st goal to break AA4's and his own scoring duck for the season. The goal although not glamorous was eventually slammed home by Jon after football pinball in the oppositions penalty area.

A slow Hawks backline meant that Jono and Ryan had the lions share of through balls and the AA4's were unlucky to go in at half time only a goal to the good.

The second half saw the AA4's defence hold strong, communicating and shutting down options from Sood, Ed and team physio Tom Terrell meant that Liam was able to make comfortable saves from between the posts. A smooth passing started from Liam in goals ended with Jazz releasing Dom Taylor upfront whose long awaited return to the AA4's was celebrated with a fantastic goal thread past the keeper into the far corner 2-0.

As the game came to a climax, Chef Dave GORDON Ramsey's specialist alcohol poisoning BBQ could be smelt on the sidelines. The smell of a hot snag helped stiffen the resolve of the AA4's to maintain a clean sheet. Great midfield tracking from Scarfe combined with Scrappy CoCo Howard's newly adapted defence meant that the AA4's were going to enjoy a hot beef injection with a winners smile.

Well done lads on the 2-0 victory lets keep the good form going till next week.

Cheers
